Perl - Best Practices
In a Nutshell - CIW Course Section 2, Part B3
Quite why it was decided to entitle this section 'Best Practices' I'm not terribly sure. Yes it touches on writing bug-free scripts towards the end, but other than this it is not about best practices per se.
What it does cover is the fairly advanced concepts of packages and modules, and object orientation. These are not quite as daunting as the headings might have you believe.
Chapter Headings
As I have done with the other sections, the navigation links, to the left, are somewhat abbreviated so I have included the full chapter titles here:
- Chapter 1 - Packages
- Chapter 2 - Modules
- Chapter 3 - Object Orientation Basics
- Chapter 4 - Advanced Features of Object Orientation
- Chapter 5 - Database Connectivity
- Chapter 6 - SQL
- Chapter 7 - Working with Databases
- Chapter 8 - Removing Bugs from Scripts
- Chapter 9 - Bug-Free Perl Code
File access is reasonably straight-forward and it will be put to use in the end-of-section revision assignment.
